What are Services Like at Regency?

  • When you arrive at Regency, you'll be greeted warmly by one or more members of our church family who will gladly guide you to the right worship locations for you and your family.  If you have children under 3 years old, we will help direct you to our nursery, where qualified and caring staff will help watch your children during the service.
  • Either before the service or during the announcements, one of the ushers will give you a brochure about our church and a pen.  Inside the brochure is a guest card, and we would appreciate you filling out the card and placing it in the offering plate when it is passed during the service.  Please keep the brochure and the pen as our gift to remind you of your visit.
  • Our services are best described as "traditional".  As a congregation we sing hymns from hymnbooks, and the music used for the offering, the choir, and other special music is scripturally accurate, conservative in presentation, edifying, and uplifting.  We believe that the rock, pop, jazz, and southern gospel music styles that are usually performed as part of a "contemporary" or "blended" style service clearly contradict the Bible's commands for separation from the world, and we do not use these types of music in our services.
  • At our services, all preaching and teaching is done using the King James Bible.
  • At the end of the Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening services, the pastor will give an invitation to those who would like to trust Christ as Savior or for Christians who have other decisions to make (for example, rededication to Christ, a need to be baptized, or joining the church).  If you would like counseling, please come forward at that time and let the pastor know.
  • Our services start promptly at the times mentioned on our home page.  Generally speaking, Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening services last about an hour and ten minutes.  Midweek services are done by 8:00PM.

What Do We Believe?

  • We believe that the Bible is the infallible, authoritative Word of God.  It is our guide and textbook for our faith and practice.
  • We believe in the Triune Godhead consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is One God Who exists in Three Persons.
  • We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ's finished work on Calvary's cross.  Since Christ paid 100% of the price of our salvation, there is nothing more we need to do but to place our faith in Him to receive this free gift.
  • We believe that Christ rose bodily from the grave and is ascended into heaven, where He is currently preparing a place for those who will receive Him as their Savior.
  • We believe that there is a literal heaven and hell as described in the Bible, and that all who have lived on this earth will spend eternity in one of those two places.  If you aren't sure about where you will spend eternity, please click here to find out how you can know for sure that you are on your way to heaven.
  • We believe in the soon return of Jesus Christ for His Church, the pretribulational rapture, and His millennial reign upon the earth.

Meet Our Pastor
Bob Wallace

Pastor Bob and Betty Wallace

Pastor Bob and Betty Wallace

Pastor Bob Wallace grew up in a Christian home in a southern New Jersey town near Philadelphia.  As a teenager, he placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and began studying to become a teacher at a local college.  Shortly afterward, God placed the burden on his heart to change his field of study and prepare to go into full-time ministry.  He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he received both his B.A. in Bible and M.A. in Christian Education.

In 1964, he married Betty Richardson and moved to the Chicago area to become the youth pastor at the Oak Forest Baptist Temple in Oak Forest.  Many of the teenagers under the ministry of “Pastor Bob” have since gone on to serve the Lord in the pastorate, on the mission field, or in other areas of Christian service.

After serving ten years as youth pastor, God called Pastor Wallace to move from Chicago to Dallas, Texas to become the pastor at the Galilean Baptist Church.  He spent over twenty years as pastor at Galilean and was instrumental in overseeing the church move from Dallas to Cedar Hill.

In June 1997, God called Pastor Wallace to become the pastor of Regency Baptist Church.  During the years he has spent here at Regency, many souls have been saved, families have been reached, missionaries have been sent from our church, and believers have been strengthened in the faith.   In addition to serving as pastor at Regency, Pastor Wallace currently serves on the board of the Independent Baptist Fellowship International (IBFI), and he and Betty both teach classes at Crown Southwest Norris Seminary.

The Wallaces live in Arlington and have three daughters, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
